The trophy consists of the skull and fur.  The evaluation of trophies is mandatory by law and is carried out according to the CIC methodology by a commission made up of technical staff and representatives of the national forest guard. Romania holds the world record for this species with a fur of 687.79 CIC points harvested in 1985 and a skull of 70.01 CIC points harvested in 2015, both in Harghita County.
