Stalking

Stalking is the individual method by which the hunter, alone or accompanied by a gamekeeper, pursuit and tries to approach the game without scaring it. Generally, this method is combined with spotting and in some periods of the year and for some of the species with the method of calling of the game (red & roe deer in rut season).

Hunting from high-stands or high-seats

As with stalking large game demands patience, acute observation and absolute silence. Originating to Germany, this practice is inspired by the ruses used by some animals of prey in their natural surroundings to find food. Over and above the pleasure it gives the hunter, it has the double advantage of providing a selective shot. This type of hunt can be done as well by sitting and waiting near the feeding places, crops generally in the places frequented by game. For roe, red and fallow deer, wild boars are used open tall stands for better view and avoid the bad wind. For bears and wild-boars we have comfortable luxury high-seats that can be used in winter time.

Driven hunt

The most popular method of hunting in Romania is the driven hunt for big and small game. For the wild boars the drive is organized in large areas with forests & bushes. For mixed hares & pheasants the drives are organized in patches of the forest with bushes, canals, orchards, deep plowing lands, reeds. During the driven hunt of boars, hares and pheasants, you can’t shoot other animals, your prey might only be varied by some fox and golden jackals. The typical hare driven hunt is in U shape of the stands. The best time for boar & small game driven hunt is in the winter time. The frozen ground makes the hares to jump and run faster, creating the possibility of a spectacular shot. Indeed, the most successful and beautiful hunts take place in authentic winter landscapes with snow and frost. In generally in driven hunts are involved a big number of drivers, beaters, dogmen and pointing dogs or boarhounds.
